Annie was born in NYC and grew up in CT. In second grade, she landed the lead in the class play, and came home promptly telling her parents, "I like doing this theatre stuff. I want to do it more." For some reason, they didn't discourage her. Thus, a career was born.
Her first professional performance was at age 12 as the young girl in From Rags to Riches, an operetta and vaudeville review. Apparently, she liked that too. Annie then spent two summers at the Hampton Playhouse Theatre Arts Workshop, where she performed eight children's shows each year, took classes in music, dance, and acting, assisted in the scene shop for the professional Equity shows, and was the dresser for Eva Peron in Evita (as well as appearing as the young Eva.) She figured if she could last through that intensity, she was willing to commit to theatre as a career. And so...
Annie attended Dartmouth College, deciding against a conservatory or traditional theatre school. She was a member of the elite co-ed a cappella group The Dodecaphonics, and recorded two albums with that group. Annie also performed with Dartmouth theatre groups The Troupe and The Untamed Shrews, and starred as Gussie in a production of Merrily We Roll Along, as well as various other college productions. She majored in English Literature and Creative Writing (Poetry), and was thrilled to receive college credit for learning how to ski.
Annie now permanently resides in New York City, and has been steadily performing since her arrival. For her "day jobs," she has bartendered, taught rock climbing, worked in PR, and now does wine appraisals and writes free-lance wine and beer articles.
