June, 2000This is an oldie but goodie... Annie Edgerton (Ado Annie)
and Max Sullivan (Tommy Djilas) from "Oklahoma!"
Saxton's River Playhouse, VT. (I cain't say no!)The Irreplaceable Commodity
"...the cast is solid, particularly Edgerton, who rises above her character."
- nytheatre.com
"Cool, competent, conscience-driven Barbara (Annie Edgerton) is the most full-bodied of the [characters]. Director Gary Slavin gets his best performance out of Edgerton, who has charming musical comedy panache."
- offoffoff.com
Sinfully Rich
"...wonderful cast of actors... the entire ensemble deserves commendation."
- Backstage.com
Babes in Toyland
"Many of the one-line barbs were sharply delivered by Contrary Mary, played with attitude and impeccable timing by Annie Edgerton."
- The Advocate/Greenwich Time
Two Small Bodies
"Annie Edgerton's luminous turn as a brittle, self-absorbed woman, worn down by the tawdry life she's chosen and can't escape, is reason enough to brave the heat and make a beeline for 'Two Small Bodies.' Edgerton raises the temperature inside the theatre until it's hotter than a New York sidewalk, with her indifference to the detective perhaps her strongest perfume. This fine actress can turn emotions on a dime, from brittle to aching, coy temptress to alley cat. She can play smart -- and dumb -- sometimes in the same sentence. Edgerton's versatility is remarkable... [her]compelling performance brings a clinical statistic to charged, haunting life."
Two Small Bodies
- Nassau Herald (Syndicated)
"Edgerton sells her goods with aplomb and dexterity as she keeps us neatly on the edge between contempt for a potentially murderous slut and fascinated sympathy for a woe-begotten urban castaway. It's a demanding role, but Edgerton makes it work."
- nytheatre.com
The Stamford Fringe Festival (It’s Only a Play)
“Edgerton is very funny as the aggressive critic, Ira Drew; her performance as a male character makes things extra interesting.”
- The Stamford Advocate
The Stamford Fringe Festival (I Hate Hamlet)
“...full of wit and humor... . Edgerton is very charming as Andrew’s annoyingly pure girlfriend who happens to resemble Ophelia in many ways.”
- The Stamford Advocate
Starry Night
"I am still gasping from watching Annie Edgerton... I would like to know how a young actress who has not been pregnant found the resources to be so completely convincing - riveting.., she did an exceptional job."
Two by Two
-Tom Nissley, Ridgelea Institute (On-line)
"Supporting cast members, including... Annie Edgerton (Leah), also give shining performances. Each role stretches to the limits the actors' dramatic abilities from light, comedic folly to intense, poignant feeling. Edgerton, in particular, gives one of the strongest performances. Her comedic timing, tell-tale expressions, and powerful singing often impact the audience with hearty guffawing."
Operetta in Red, White and Blue
-Delaware County Town Talk
"The show was narrated by... an ever-sparkling Annie Edgerton, who embodied the exuberant 'Spirit of American Music.' Edgerton's rendition of the 'I'm Old Enough For a Little Lovin' Rag'... demonstrated that this young lady can really belt out a good number!"
"Ms. Edgerton has an infectious, sassy personality that draws the audience into the scene. With a voice more that of the soubrette, she proved she can also belt out a song and make it stick."
-The Stamford Advocate
Show Boat
-Darien News-Review
"After many successful summers, the company is unlikely ever to have a more impressive show than this one. ...In fine support, Annie Edgerton and Noah Racey score as the comic second leads, Ellie and Frank."
Betrayal
-Syracuse New Times
"Annie Edgerton gave an excellent performance as Emma... [her] expressions and mannerisms were realistic and exciting to watch, especially during the tense scenes.., depicting a woman who is absorbed in inner torment. [She] did an excellent job of maintaining the play's proper integrity, mainly through the use of pauses and the implementation of [a] convincing English accent."
The Three Sisters
-Darien News-Review
"Annie Edgerton gives a commanding performance as Natasha... her blatant disregard for other characters leads to some humorous scenes."
